TCP CREDIT UNION PRIVACY POLICY

TCP Credit Union is available to assist members in reaching their goals, through our products and services.  In accomplishing these goals, we intend to maintain a strong commitment to protecting members' privacy.

Responsibilities:  TCP Credit Union's Officers, committee members, and employees--are required to maintain and protect all members' information in confidence.  It is also the responsibility of all officers, committee members and employees to identify and take steps to report any potential breach of security, then take action to correct any areas that could permit potential security breach.

Information Sharing:  Our Policy prohibits sharing with a third party (excluding credit union affiliates) except:

  • When such disclosure is necessary to complete a transaction.

  • To Verify account history and employment history as permitted by law.

  • To Comply with any court order or applicable laws and regulations

  • When written permission is obtained from the member to receive certain information

Federal Law protects the information we provide to credit reporting agencies and its use, as governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

TCP Credit Union will not sell or provide personal information to third parties for independent use.  We may share personal information with our credit union affiliates as allowed by Federal Law if the information is required to provide a product or service that we believe members might want to know about.  A member may be excluded, if requested in writing, from receiving marketing materials from third party vendors, i.e.: CUNA Mutual Insurance Products.   These vendors are prohibited from using member information for any reason other than that for which they have been contracted.

WHAT MEMBERS CAN DO TO HELP

Protect your Account Numbers, Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) and/or Passwords.  Use caution in sharing these numbers with other persons.  It is important for the Credit Union to have current information on how to reach you. (Current phone number and address).

This policy does not address every possible contingency and circumstance.  It is to provide guidance to management and members and not intended to create enforceable legal rights in any individual.  TCP Credit Union does not bear any responsibility for any actions or policies of third parties, affiliates, or non- affiliates.  The Board of Directors and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee may authorize exception to the policy.  TCP Credit Union reserves the right to change this policy at any time with or without notice.
